April Fools'Day
Monday, April 5, 2010
April Fools’ Day this year was quite fun and all of us had a good laugh. The day started off with my brother startling himself awake by the alarm clock that I set to sound at four in the morning under his pillow. In school, we first, pretended to be asleep during mathematics lesson. However Mr. Ng was prepared for April fools’ tricks and he foiled our plan. Next we pretended to freeze during drama when the minute hand on the clock reached ten. Mr. Neil too was careful of tricks and he switched off the fans and lights in hope that we may get fed up with the heat of the class and continue with our work, but none of us gave in until somebody sneaked off to on the light and everyone burst out laughing. None of us, Tamil pupils from 1P, had thought of any trick to play on the teacher, however, in this case the teacher himself was in on the trick. On of the girls from a different class had brought a fake lizard to school. She laid the lizard on the floor and went to her seat before we came in. When we were near the lizard, the teacher pointed out the lizard but did not mention it was a fake one. We ran out of the way, screaming, while the girl to whom the lizard belonged started laughing as she came forward to pick the lizard up. Next we had home economics; it was quite boring if the hands on activity was excluded as we did not come up with any tricks to pull. After that, we had science and all of us hid our science materials and pretended that none of us had brought our things but as all the teachers were, Mrs. Toh was expecting these kinds of tricks and it backfired upon us as she figured out what was going on. In all this was a fun ‘first April fools’ day in cedar’.
